Fazlun Khalid is the director of the
Islamic Foundation for Ecology and Environmental Sciences which he founded in 1994. He has worked extensively in education and initiating environmental projects throughout the Islamic world, as well as in inter-faith and global initiatives including the Alliance of Religions and Conservation, the World Wildlife Fund, the UN’s Climate Change Summit (2009) and the World Economic Forum in Davos (2011). He regularly appears on lists of the world’s most significant environmentalists. Grist described him as “recognized as the foremost expert on ecology from the Islamic perspective”.
